We have been asked how the draw is made.
The entries arrive and are numbered as they arrive onto A4 sheets in numerial order for each competition
The Sunday a week before the Tournament starts the draw is done openly in the Club House and can be watched by anyone.
Each year the Club Vice President is the Tournament Director and can decide to Seed players, use discs for the draw or randomly number the sheets.
This year the draw was generated by computer, and no seeding.
Do we alter the draw-Yes in the first round we try and avoid same Club players being drawn against each other, but as you can see by this years draw we left the Belmont players facing each other.
The draw is then taken to the tournament sheets and transferred over against the times and Greens which have already been prepared up to Thursday morning once we know the total number of entries. This task is undertaken by individual pairs so no discussion of who and where you play takes place-so yes you can end up playing singles at Falls and have to chase accross town for your next singles or pairs match at whatever green is allocated. We post the draw on this web page, send to other bowling sites and to the press-we can not guarantee the press will publish it.
Once the Tournament starts the copy sheets on the complex show your progression and who you play next. Again our best thanks to the various greenkeepers and clubs who help each year with the availability of their greens.
Due to double ups, League and other competitions, Weather...etc. we will try to amend times and venues to suit not just us but also the players--we can not always accomodate but thats life!!!! If you do not have transport as can happen with the Under 25's we will try and advise of other players in their area who could give a lift.
Last question- Open Plate Pairs is for the beaten first round pairs-mens and ladies, but by the very nature of an "open" pairs we have allowed a sub to mix as long as they have not taken part in either the mens or ladies first rounds so yes this year the second round of the plate featured a mixed pair.
But do not forget- the sub can not skip.

Good Luck to all the players still playing and to the Ladies Under 25's who leave tomorrow morning for Worthing.
